Got a question about your application, our processes or what happens next? Here are some of the most commonly asked questions about applying for a role at NHVR.

If you have a current application, please check your recent emails for your recruiter's contact name and email. If you do not know your recruiter or have not yet applied, please contact recruitment@nhvr.gov.au

You can login to your Applicant Profile at any stage to see the status of your application. Communication through the recruitment process will come via email to your registered email address, or by phone.

You can submit applications for multiple roles. In some cases, different roles are managed by different recruiters, or there could be more than one position you're interested in. If you were recently unsuccessful and would like further feedback, please contact your recruiter prior to reapplying.

There are a few steps in our process, so it can take anywhere from 5 days to 4 weeks depending on the role that you applied for. You can help the process by returning the requested documents quickly, advising your referees they will be contacted, and booking first available appointments.

Our internal talent acquisition team handles recruitment across the group. Please contact recruitment@nhvr.gov.au for further information.

For some of our work types our employees are required to have a current drivers licence in particular for our Safety and Compliance positions. If a licence is required, it will be stated on the job advert.

Our Talent Community and Applicant Profiles are two separate platforms and logins. You can unsubscribe from communication and job alerts by logging into your Talent Profile here.

The recruitment process to be a Safety and Compliance officer is comprehensive. It will involve the stages:

  • Initial phone interview with a recruiter.
  • Online testing to assess your safety awareness and computing skills.
  • Face to face interview along with role play exercise.

Not all our locations require formal qualifications and we consider transferable skills and experience in line with the position. Our job ads will specify if a Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate is required. If you are unsure please contact our recruitment team to discuss.

We aim to respond to all applicants as quickly as possible. Once you’ve applied for a role you should receive a response confirming that we've received your application. If you're moving forward in the process, you should receive a response from us within 15 working days.

CV Check and Xref are our partners in providing reference and background checking service. You'll need to follow the instructions on the email. Please contact your Recruiter for more details. These checks are required to be completed before you're able to start with us.

We may offer relocation assistance depending on the role and eligibility. This will be discussed during our recruitment process if it is required.

We do not currently offer sponsorship to overseas candidates. You must have the right to work in Australia to be employed at the NHVR. Please speak to the recruitment team for more information.
