The Senior Policy Advisor (Safety Duties and Codes) serves as the NHVR’s subject matter expert on Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements under Chapter 1A and Part 13.2 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law, including the Primary Duty, Executive Due Diligence, and Industry Codes of Practice. The role provides authoritative advice and guidance to industry stakeholders to support their understanding of, and compliance with, safety obligations, while promoting the effective use of Codes of Practice. Working closely with both external and internal stakeholders, the position ensures consistent interpretation, application, and communication of CoR principles and safety duties across the NHVR and the heavy vehicle industry.
