About the role
As Technical Lead you will take on a critical role in the technical discovery, design, engineering, testing, deployment and continuous improvement of approved AI-enabled solutions within our Microsoft Co-Pilot stack.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Design and implement solutions using relevant approved capabilities, which may include Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search and other approved AI services.
- Apply practical engineering knowledge of generative AI and large language models, including grounding, retrieval, prompt and context design, agents, model behaviour, evaluation, safety controls and human oversight, and financial acumen across AI consumption.
- Collaborate with Enterprise and Solution Architecture to apply approved AI principles, patterns, standards and guardrails in practical solution delivery.
- Provide evidence-based technical advice on the feasibility, cost effectiveness, limitations, delivery effort, data requirements, risks and support implications of proposed AI use cases.
- Establish repeatable engineering practices for prototyping, source control, configuration management, testing, deployment, observability, documentation and operational handover.
- Ensure AI-enabled solutions are supportable, measurable and aligned with approved security, privacy, information governance, data, consumption control, and Responsible AI requirements.
- Build organisational technical AI capability through mentoring, pairing, reusable components, implementation guidance and knowledge sharing.
This role is being offered as a 2-year max term engagement.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, testing and deploying enterprise AI-enabled solutions, with practical experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search and the ability to extend that capability across approved NHVR technologies.
Your toolkit for success:
- Demonstrated understanding of generative AI, large language models, agents, grounding, retrieval, model behaviour, AI evaluation and Responsible AI controls.
- Strong software engineering and integration capability, including APIs, connectors, source control, testing, release management, documentation and operational support.
- Experience working with architects, cyber security, data, privacy, assurance or platform teams to deliver solutions within approved enterprise patterns and controls.
- Demonstrated technical judgement, collaborative problem-solving and the ability to communicate AI opportunities, limitations, tradeoffs and risks to technical and business stakeholders.
Desirable skills:
- Experience applying Azure AI services, Azure AI Search, Copilot Studio, Microsoft 365 extensibility or equivalent AI engineering platforms in production-scale, governed or regulated environments.
- Experience developing retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge-grounded, agentic or conversational AI solutions.
- Experience implementing AI evaluation, monitoring, observability or operational improvement for production AI-enabled solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Power Platform, Dataverse, Microsoft 365 extensibility or relevant enterprise development languages.
- Microsoft certifications or applied skills relating to Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Power Platform, Microsoft 365 or comparable AI/cloud engineering technologies.
