About the role

As the Business Advisor you will provide effective and timely support for the Director Central Region and Leadership Team on matters impacting the delivery of key priorities, including the planning, coordination and development of business plans, financial management and resource management.

Key responsibilities of this role are: (but not limited to) 

  • Plan and prioritise work and activities of the Central Region to enable the efficient flow of issues and correspondence, establishing appropriate priorities and successful delivery of outcomes. 
  • Work with the leadership team to identify issues and opportunities that may affect the NHVR and its ability to fulfil its regulatory role, purpose, and objectives.
  • Develop, review, monitor and/or assist in research, analysis, recommendations and responses in key areas, such as internal and external meetings, conferences, workshops, general correspondence, policy and briefing material for the region including critical and sensitive matters.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders including government agencies and industry.
  • Monitor key deliverables and priorities as directed by the Director in relation to activities of the region and manage any risks that may impact on delivery of outcomes.
  • Manage and maintain the risk register relevant to the region.
  • Adhere to all NHVR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with NHVR internal processes.

The Operations Division ensures the continued and improved effectiveness of operational processes and transactions for customers and service users of the NHVR. The division is accountable for operational safety and compliance functions across NHVR.

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate and influence outcomes at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability in preparing, managing and reviewing briefing papers/materials, high-level communications and correspondence.
  • High level proficiency in using a range of systems and technology platforms.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain financial and organisation plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex problems in a timely and effective manner.
