About the role
Working as Cyber Security Analyst you will supports the team’s security efforts by conducting detailed analysis of escalated incidents from the Security Operations Centre (SOC) team, performing triage and validation of potential threats, and applying pre-defined response measures to maintain a secure technological environment.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Manage escalations from the Security Operations Centre (SOC) by validating, analysing, and responding to security alerts and threats.
- Examine and correlate activity across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments to identify patterns indicative of breaches or vulnerabilities.
- Document and escalate sophisticated incidents to senior team members as required for additional investigation or remediation.
- Monitor and interpret data received from existing SIEM platforms to identify suspicious activity.
- Execute incident response playbooks for common threat scenarios, taking containment actions under the guidance of senior engineers or managers.
- Support technical efforts to mitigate, contain, and recover from identified security breaches according to established protocols.
- Conduct pre-implementation security reviews for systems to identify and resolve potential vulnerabilities before deployment.
- Record structured and detailed timelines of incident response actions within NHVR’s ITSM platform (e.g., ServiceNow).
Join our Technology Operations and Cyber Security unit tasked with ensuring the delivery, operation, and security of reliable and scalable digital services across NHVR.
This role may be required to participate in an on-call roster in accordance with the NHVR EA and operational requirements.

About You
To be successful in this role you will possess a minimum of 2+ years' professional experience in an information security or SOC analyst role, have proficiency in using SIEM tools and endpoint protection platforms (e.g., EDR/EPP) and demonstrated experience in supporting business units with direct customer contact channels.
You will have:
- Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as Essential Eight, ISO/IEC 27001, ITIL, as well as those from NIST, including 800-53 and Cybersecurity Framework.
- Familiarity with applying mitigation techniques (such as isolating endpoints, blocking IP ranges, and removing malicious binaries).
- Knowledge of cyber threat landscapes, including familiarity with malware behaviour, phishing techniques, and vulnerabilities in common operating environments (e.g., Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, cloud).
