About the role 

As the Enterprise Data Architect, you will lead the strategic direction, governance, and architecture of information and data across the organisation. 
 
You will champion data as a critical organisational asset, enabling regulatory excellence, digital innovation, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and evidence-based decision making.  

Key responsibilities of this role are:  

  • Deliver and evolve enterprise-wide, AI-ready, data and information principles, strategies, roadmaps, and target architectures, that enable business transformation, regulatory compliance, and informed investment decisions.  
  • Enable trusted, secure and interoperable data sharing across regulatory, safety and compliance domains by defining and governing enterprise data architectures that support national consistency and effective regulatory outcomes.  
  • Embed data governance controls into solution delivery by ensuring data ownership, stewardship, metadata, data quality and lifecycle accountability are considered in architecture patterns, solution designs and delivery governance.  
  • Provide authoritative enterprise data architecture leadership and strategic advice to executives, shaping investment decisions, transformation initiatives, operating models and data-driven organisational outcomes.  
  • Influence enterprise priorities, investment decisions and strategic trade-offs through effective stakeholder engagement, facilitation and negotiation across business and technology domains.  
  • Build enterprise data architecture capability by providing technical leadership, mentoring practitioners and establishing standards and ways of working that improve organisational maturity and delivery outcomes.

About You   

To be successful in this role you will have 7-10 years in data architecture, solution architecture and governance exposure. As well as strong experience in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence, your breadth of experience will span across the entire technology footprint showcasing your skills in enterprise decision making. 

You will display ability to establish and embed enterprise standards for data modelling, master data, metadata, business vocabularies, data quality, lineage and lifecycle management to improve the consistency, reliability and value of enterprise information assets.  

Your toolkit for success:  

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information-technology, engineering, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.  
  • Experience developing data architecture patterns, strategies, and roadmaps.  
  • Experience applying domain-driven design or data domain modelling to define data domains business capabilities, data products and reusable enterprise data assets. 
  • Good understanding of strategic and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models.  
  • Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies and capability of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt.  
  • Experience delivering presentations to senior-level managers and technical audiences.  

Highly regarded:  

  • Experience with LeanIX or other Enterprise Architecture tools. 
  • Recognised cloud data certifications. 
  • DAMA-aligned data governance training.
