About the role

Working as Finance Officer you will contribute to the effective functioning of the finance team by processing a range of financial support services including the overall management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card and expense management processes and associated activities, whilst building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Carry out invoice processing functions including invoice entry via automated accounts payable system and payment of suppliers within set timeframes in accordance with internal procedures and processes.
  • Manage, maintain and reconcile accounts receivable, accounts payable and expense management systems within set timeframes in accordance with internal procedures and processes.
  • Manage and proactively review revenues and accounts receivable processes and practices to ensure they are performing efficiently and effectively and undertake improvements and changes where required.
  • Ensure transactions from the integrated NHVR Portal are correctly being recorded in Accounts Receivable System.
  • Monitor outstanding customer accounts, liaise with internal and external clients to answer account receivable & payable queries, provide advice on any action taken and advise relevant business areas where necessary.
  • Maintain and update expense management system users, including setup and training of new users as well maintain and update registers and reports as required and directed by Manager Finance Services.
  • Management of credit cards including new applications, card cancellations and reconciliation of credit card transactions.
  • Support appropriate governance around revenue and expenditure through regular analysis of accounts receivable, accounts payable, credit card use and employee expense and travel claims.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting and finance including accounts payable, receivable and expenditure system management.

You will ideally hold relevant tertiary qualification (certificate IV accounting or bachelors equivalent) and have extensive experience in a financial customer facing role.

Your toolkit for success:

  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in financial policy, processes and compliance with legislative and NHVR business requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial processing and associated validation techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability in utilising financial management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good attention to detail. and demonstrated problem solving skills
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Skills with PowerBI and or Dynamics would be highly advantageous but are not essential.
