Exciting Opportunity for a Manager Enterprise Risk and Assurance to lead Enterprise Risk initiatives including maturing NHVR’s approach to operational risk management, fraud and corruption investigations and assurance activities. In this role you will be driving effective governance, risk mitigation, and compliance across the organisation.

Based at our Head Office in Newstead and reporting to the Director, you’ll bring strong expertise in risk management systems and frameworks, with preferred experience in conducting investigations or reviews, particularly in relation to Public Interest Disclosures.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Manage the NHVR’s Public Interest Disclosure program by conducting investigations, preparing briefs and communication letters within prescribed timeframes, and report findings to the Director Governance Risk and Assurance.
  • Actively foster a risk management culture and promote risk and assurance activities within the organisation where the management of risk becomes an organic part of day-to-day business.
  • Lead and support the Enterprise Risk Management Specialist to maintain the Strategic and Corporate Risk Registers, while also overseeing the divisional / operational risk registers, to ensure:
    • they reflect the current risks of the organisation
    • the timely implementation of treatments
    • risks are being managed within tolerances and reported in accordance with the NHVR’s Risk and Assurance Framework
    • divisions maintain their respective registers in their regular divisional management meetings.
  • Oversee the transfer all risk registers to the electronic package, DoneSafe.
  • Comprehensive understanding of risk management principles, frameworks and strategies aligned to the operation and implementation of ISO: 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.
  • Proven experience in influencing people to drive quality improvements with a disciplined, collaborative, and enabling approach.
  • Demonstrate proven investigation interview skills when required.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, including demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with internal and external key stakeholders.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information and provide high-level administrative support.
  • Ability to work within an environment of competing priorities, working to assess and resolve issues.

To be successful in this role you will possess

  • Demonstrated experience within a corporate environment in a quality or governance-related role (e.g., risk, internal audit, compliance and/or quality assurance).
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting, investigating and administering Public Interest Disclosures (PIDs).
  • Suitably qualified in a discipline such as fraud control, investigations and risk management.
  • Experience of working with senior executives.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
  • Extensive experience using a range of standard software systems and information technology.
  • Demonstrated experience in investigations and fraud reviews.
