About the role

NHVR is looking for an Operations Support Officer to join their Launceston team on a temporary full-time basis until December 2026. Reporting directly to the Principal Safety & Compliance Officer, you will provide administrative support, including email and diary management for the Principal Safety and Compliance Officer and support the effective delivery of prosecution services through the provision of high-level administrative support, research and the preparation of information and reports.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide administrative support to the business unit where required, inclusive of process management of Infringement Notices.
  • Coordinate and respond to enquiries and correspondence relevant to the business unit.
  • Assist in the coordination, preparation, and delivery of reports and/or dashboard content.
  • Ensure a high level of discretion, maturity, diplomacy, and judgement in responding to enquiries arising from the Executive Team, Senior Managers, and customers both internal and external.
  • Provide professional support and assistance to the Executive, Senior Managers, and other members of the Operations Division, as directed by Operations Manager.
  • Communicate and liaise with Senior Executives from public and private organisations on a wide range of issues, respect confidentiality and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Manage travel for the business unit, including booking of flights, accommodation, and reconciliation of the monthly travel expenditure report.
  • Management of the service of summonses and other court related documentation to individuals and businesses.
  • Assist Prosecutors in the preparation of Affidavits of Service as required, for registration with the Magistrates court.
  • Record and track the issue of Infringement and Defect Notices including managing related enquires and correspondence.

About You

As the ideal candidate, you will be energetic and organised, able to manage competing priorities, and motivated to work in a team environment to deliver a broadly-based administrative service.

You will be able to apply sound judgement to decision making and exercise professionalism when responding to confidential, sensitive, and challenging information. You will be able to quickly learn working knowledge of a new industry and work autonomously.

With your high level of interpersonal skills, you will build strong working relationships with the team leaders and across the Operations division. A high level of written communication skills will also be required to prepare documentation.

To be successful for the role, you will have a minimum of three years’ experience in business administration roles, supporting Senior Management and broader teams. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and electronic document management systems is favourable.
