About the role

The Senior Project Officer will work closely with the Executive Director, senior leaders and business teams to help drive the delivery of the organisation’s priority projects and strategic reform agenda.

The role is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, influence outcomes and support effective change management throughout project delivery.

As part of this engagement, the role will monitor the external operating environment to identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities that may impact project delivery and provide recommendations to support successful outcomes.

The role is also responsible for preparing and supporting the development of high-quality reports and executive documentation to enable informed decision-making by the Executive.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

• Provide strategic advice to executive leadership and senior stakeholders to deliver complex regulatory reform initiatives, ensuring outcomes are achieved within agreed timeframes.
• Lead business analysis activities, including documenting processes, and technology/data requirements to support effective decision-making and project delivery.
• Develop and monitor performance measures and benefits realisation frameworks to track quantitative and qualitative business outcomes.
• Conduct research and analyse regulatory practices and business processes to identify improvement opportunities and deliver evidence-based recommendations.
• Plan, facilitate, and coordinate stakeholder engagement activities to capture user needs, build understanding of business challenges, and support successful reform outcomes.
• Provide expert guidance across the organisation, influencing strategic direction, business activities, and stakeholder collaboration for reform initiatives.
• Assess organisational change impacts and partner with business owners to manage communication, readiness, and adoption of new ways of working.
• Develop high-quality project documentation, executive reports, briefing materials, risk management updates, and stakeholder communications while fostering strong relationships, ensuring compliance, and supporting successful project delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential to the Role:

• Previous experience in business analysis and program delivery.

Highly Regarded:

• Working knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry
• Project management, PROSCI or other change management certification or training
