Our Principal Safety and Compliance Officers are dedicated leaders who inspire teams and drive positive outcomes for the community. They oversee enforcement operations staff, supported by Senior Safety and Compliance Officers, ensuring that people remain at the heart of operational success.

Leadership Focus

  • Empower staff by encouraging openness to new approaches and supporting professional growth.
  • Coordinate operational plans and outcomes while motivating teams to deliver excellence in road safety initiatives.

 Collaboration & Influence

  • Build strong, cohesive relationships across your teams, the wider Operations division, and the heavy vehicle industry.
  • Act as a trusted leader who can unite diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
  • Champion effective communication and conflict resolution to maintain a positive and productive workplace.

The Role

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Penrith. Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal hours and travel intrastate is required to strengthen connections across the division.

About You

  • Hold a relevant automotive mechanical trade qualification.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse teams, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Skilled in people management, including coaching, mentoring, performance development, and handling sensitive matters such as WHS incidents, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution.
  • Experienced in managing resources, budgets, and operational infrastructure while keeping team engagement and wellbeing front of mind.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust, build strong relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated capacity to motivate staff, encourage innovation, and guide teams through change with resilience and clarity.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of the heavy vehicle industry or regulatory environments highly regarded.
