Team Lead - Business Intelligence
About the role
Working as Team Lead – Business Performance Analytics (BI) your role will be to work with team members and stakeholder to improve regulatory processes and outcomes showcasing your skills in technical leadership, team management, solution design and architecture with a focus on producing quality outcomes.
Key responsibilities of this role are:
- Act as a hands-on technical lead for the team that models and represents insights and data products in support of data-driven decision making at the NHVR.
- In collaboration with the Data Engineering and Data Platform teams, be accountable for the production and maintenance of analytical data models in the Enterprise Data Platform.
- Provide authoritative advice to Managers, Directors, and other senior staff across the organisation in creating and using products that support data-driven decision making.
- Manage the development of project plans from rough business requirements and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to adhere to project roadmaps.
- Write technical specifications using industry standard formats, peer review technical writing of team members, and ensure architectural diagrams and technical specifications are up to date.
- Participate, collaborate, and help facilitate Agile Program Management processes that foster high performing SCRUM teams to deliver key BAU activities and milestones from the Project Roadmap and Strategic plans.

About You
We are seeking a dedicated professional with relevant tertiary degree and a minimum of 7 years IT experience and at least 2 years in a technical supervisory capacity.
You will have extensive experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, analysis and data modelling coupled with experience with cloud-based data services and data warehouses (e.g., Microsoft Azure services, Databricks – ideally holding certifications in both).
Your toolkit for success:
- Demonstrated experience in forming and leading high-performance technical teams.
- Demonstrated extensive skills and experience in structuring and presenting complex data findings and technical decisions to non-technical and executive stakeholders in a clear, persuasive narrative.
- Demonstrated extensive skills and experience in analytical data modelling and manipulation.
- Demonstrated extensive skills and experience with Microsoft Power BI and related technologies (SQL Server, Integration Services, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and DevOps).
- Proficiency in a programming language like Python, R, PYSQL, PYSpark for data processing, scripting and automation.
- Proven aptitude at evaluating and applying new technologies or methods to address future business needs.
