We are seeking 2 detail-oriented Purchasing Officers to manage transactional purchasing activities, ensuring accurate record-keeping, audit compliance, and the smooth facilitation of the purchase order process. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience in procurement roles and a proven ability to work efficiently within established processes.

About the Role

The Purchasing Officer is responsible for executing transactional purchasing activities in line with NHVR procurement policies. You will request quotes, respond to supplier queries, maintain accurate records, and audit trails, and facilitate the purchase order process while coordinating with internal stakeholders. The role also involves supporting stakeholder engagement, maintaining team communication channels, contributing to procurement data insights, and identifying opportunities for process improvements. You will ensure all purchases comply with NHVR policies, governance standards, and legislative requirements, while actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives and fostering effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and partners.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors, stakeholders, and management, commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You will demonstrate high attention to detail, strong organisational and time management skills, and the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes and cost efficiencies. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain client confidence and protect the professional integrity of the CEO, Executive, and Board by handling sensitive information with discretion. The role requires a minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement, relevant tertiary qualifications in procurement or supply.
